Team
Chris is the “accountable lead” on GeoVation and responsible for community propositions at Ordnance Survey where he’s worked for 14 years, previously heading Research & Innovation and working our product and service strategy. As a geographer he counts himself lucky to have worked with geography, at home and overseas, in all three sectors, his entire career. He’s keen to see greater use of geography by civil society in responding to community needs. Chris is an Arsenal fan and enjoys cycling, gardening and sailing.
Viv makes the events happen, looks after communications about GeoVation. runs the blog and the ideas platform. In 13 years at Ordnance Survey, Viv has worked with web services, large scale product management, and in legal and now enjoys working with the GeoVation community. Outside of work, Viv enjoys running, walking, swimming, reading, travelling, music and listening to live bands.
Luke also helps plan and facilitate GeoVation events and often contributes to the GeoVation blog. Luke has worked in marketing related roles both home and overseas – having completed a gap year working for a leading charity in Sydney before joining Ordnance Survey. Luke has a broad understanding of Ordnance Survey’s products/services; having spent 5 years working in a customer facing role. In his spare time, Luke enjoys listening to and playing music, playing football and “carving up the Alps” on his snowboard (hopefully!) once a year.

Hi
I am wondering if organisations like these below who are interested and committed to transition may be interested in knowing about the Geovation Challenge. This is in answer to where should you go to tell people about Geovation.
http://www.transitionnetwork.org/
http://transitiontowns.org/Chester.Chester
Thanks Rachel. We’ve emailed a lot of transition towns to let them know about the Challenge, but not had a great deal of response as yet.
I have registered with name and password, but I have forgotten both and cannot access Geo vacation, or OS OPen Space.
Can you help
I can’t see your name registered. If you can remember your user name and you go to the challenge page http://www.geovation.org.uk/challenge/ there is a ‘forgotten password’ button and you can be resent a new one. Otherwise, either re-register with a different email address or email us at champions@geovation.org.uk and I will look into it off line.
I am very interested in the geovation challenge. The institute for sustainability supports SCIE (Supply Chain Innovation and Excellence); a partnership which aims to catalyse innovation across the supply chain and logistics sector. We are putting on an event on 1st February where a number of academics, businesses and public sector organisations are coming together to receive presentations on the future of the sector (including from the chief scientific advisor from DfT) and also from funding bodies about future opportunities.
I wondered whether you would be able to present the geovation challenge on the day.
Kind regards
Stefan
Dear Champions,
Just a note to say how enjoyable I thought the GeoVation Showcase was. The projects were most interesting and it was fun to meet with such energetic, positive minded people.
I was not a participant in the Challange and I thank you for the opportunity to visit. It was an inspiration to get to work on some community ideas of my own.
All the best,
Danny
Are you connected with anyone from the Environment Agency in terms of supporting your competitions etc? Are you planning a competition for 2012 and if so any word on likely topics?
Thanks
Ant Parsons
Business Innovation Manager
We are not connected with the Environment Agency. We are planning 2 new challenges in early in 2012 and will soon be announcing more details…
I would really like to thank you very much for the work you have made in writing this piece of writing. I am hoping the same effective job by you in the future also.
[...] challenge, and also coming along to chat with us and the OS in April. Ordnance Survey’s Ian Holt will also be speaking at the conference. If you’d like to share your ideas, or get some help [...]
We are running the inaugural Malvern Festival of Innovation in the transition town of Great Malvern on 8th-9th November and would like to invite Geovation and those Champions involved in innovation to exhibit or participate – see http://www.festival-innovation.com for more information. Several of the sessions would be relevant to the excellent Geovation initiative, in particular ‘digital media’ and ‘sustainability/environment’. It is free to exhibit or visit, and open to the general public and business/technology professionals alike. Best regards, Adrian
